A few people were kind enough to ask me what I chose for my birthday present.
If you take a look at the photos I took yesterday around The Greens you’ll notice a very bright-pink flower on a low shrub. Its a Bouganvillia and it thrives here in the harsh conditions – a lot of fierce sun and not a lot of rain.
So, since I am setting up our balcony to be a bit of an outdoor oasis, I chose a tall, skinny version of the pink bouganvillia in a pot. It such an incredibly vibrant colour – I always think of this colour as Schiaparelli pink after the designer Elsa Schiaparelli, who created those shocking pink ball gowns in the 1930s.
Hmmm, a pashmina in this colour would be nice!
